Saeed(25/05): One last update... How bout having height variation in shelves (as in the left pic and pics above) and also having the depth of the shelf above fridge same as the depth of the fridge?

SAM: The creation of the breakfast table in a ISLAND fashion will give a very contemporary look as well as will be very functional. The fridge is roughly 2'9.5" Width x 2'4" Depth.
Looks really cool and is spacious, but white in color! how bout having shelves over the fridge, as in the kitchen pics in other post... what if we cut a part of the slab (granite) on one end (in front of the door) to fit in the fridge??? that would make the fridge part of the kitchen and well integrated into the shelves...
Sama finalize today the provision for cosmetic enhances like:
1) lamp hanging from the ceiling on breakfast table
2) spot lights below shelves
3) spot lights inside glass doored shelves
why dont u put it all on a proper acrobat file, which nausheen will use as "the kitchen document" for quote and stuff.

What are the dimensions of the fridge????
we could go in for a inset... and have a continuity in the wall cabinet... over the fridge as well as over the windows... but the blinds on the windows is still a controversial affair as it could be a fire hazard since the window is directly above the cooking hob.
The C-Shape is very much a possibility.. however... it might just create conjestion... instead if we go for a curved thing.. say 2 feet width & 3 feet length from the current slab.. and it goes in 45 degree from there on say 2 feet with a ending semicircle of 1 feet dia resting on a pole. kind of becomes a breakfast table.
Over to you...
Let me draw in on the current plan.. and will give a better picture
also.. we need to think about having the microwave inset onto the wall.. make it part of the cabinet.
You may get an idea from the drawing on how the human movement will be.... i love it on paper right now.. have to see how much it will cost... if we do this.. we can really have drop down lights from the ceiling.. probably two.. and that'll be it.. the kitchen will be a show piece.

COOL is the word! i perticularly liked the idea of having a lamp hanging on breakfast table extension, but just one will do,one with the cone hood... reminds me of something...
hey hold on..dont incorporate the fridge there...the kitchen will look too small..thats what i feel.n one mre thing..the design of the kitchen with furniture that u ve made looks good but the shelves above the windows will make the windows smaller cuz of which sunlight will be compromised!! SUNLIGHT..Bhai forgot????????
